As we continue to invest in and expand the world of Mindbug, we’re excited to share a sneak peek at an innovative new feature: Progression Mode (working title), launching early in 2025. This new mode brings a fresh twist to deck-building, strategy, and roguelite gameplay progression, giving players an even deeper experience to enjoy.

What is Progression Mode?

Adventure Mode is an innovative blend of constructed and draft gameplay, designed to put more control into your hands. Whether you’re a seasoned Mindbug duelist or new to the game, this mode offers an exciting and dynamic way to test your skills.

Here’s how it works:

  • Choose Your Mindbug: Each player starts by selecting one of the iconic Mindbugs. Your choice shapes your starting deck and determines the unique global abilities that will influence your games. Some abilities will be unlocked as you progress, rewarding your victories.

  • Modify Your Deck: After every match, you’ll have the opportunity to tweak your deck. Replace cards, upgrade their power, or add new keywords and abilities. These changes can drastically alter your strategy, giving you more agency over your playstyle.

  • Survive the Challenge: You can keep playing as long as you avoid three losses. Once you hit three defeats, it’s time to start over. But don’t worry—every run lets you unlock new cards, powers, and upgrades, making each attempt fresh and rewarding.

Why Progression Mode?

Progression Mode is designed to:

  • Empower Players: Giving you more control over your deck allows for greater strategic depth. Whether you’re adapting to new challenges or experimenting with synergies, your choices matter.
  • Deliver a Fresh Experience Every Time: The mix of customization and progression ensures no two runs feel the same.
  • Expand the Role of Mindbugs: Players who own the set of cards (e.g. First Contact) will gain access to the Mindbugs of this set in the Progression Mode (e.g. Mr. Green and Mr. Pink). Players who don’t own the set will be limited.
