In Mindbug Online, competition and progression are at the heart of the game. We designed a ranking system that provides both challenge and excitement for players of all skill levels. Whether you’re just starting your journey or aiming for the prestigious Grandmaster rank, here’s everything you need to know about how our ranking system works.

The Season Structure – Constant Evolution with Card Rotations
Players participate in Duel Mode, where they battle using the current season’s card set. Each season lasts about four months, but within that time, we might introduce minor card rotations. We believe that variety is key to keeping Mindbug Online exciting and competitive. That’s why we introduced the concept of rotating card sets during a season. The main card set remains at the core, but we’ll occasionally mix in new cards from different sets or introduce promotional cards. This allows for fresh strategies and keeps the game dynamic throughout each season.

The Ranking Ladder
All players begin their journey in the Leather 5 league. As players win matches, they earn stars, and once they collect three stars, they advance to the next league. Here’s a breakdown of the leagues in order of progression:

In each league, players need to earn three stars to move up to the next level. Winning a game earns you one star, but if you’re on a winning streak, you’ll earn a bonus star, helping you climb faster.

Entering the Grandmaster League
Once players reach the Grandmaster rank, the competition becomes even more intense. Here, instead of progressing through leagues, your MMR (Matchmaking Rating) will be displayed as a numerical rank—such as Rank 125. This is where the true top players of the season are recognized, with the rankings reflecting your exact position in the global player pool.

The Impact of Losing and Season Resets
While winning earns stars, losing comes with a cost. If you lose a match, you lose one of your stars. However, this system is designed to provide a fair balance, ensuring that players can recover from losses and keep progressing. At the end of each season, your rank is adjusted—you will lose half of your current rank, but you won’t be reset to zero. This system ensures that players maintain some of their progress between seasons while providing new opportunities for players to climb the ranks again in the next season.

Tournaments
On top of the seasons, we will also continue to offer organized tournaments and special events such as World Championship, national championships and the Cup of Nations. They are managed via our tourney website and will be announced separately.

The first online season will start with the official release on November 13th. So don’t miss it and wishlist the game now so you can start climbing the ranks from the very beginning.
